On November 20, 2025, the symposium “Collaborating for Inclusive and High-Quality Social and Health Services for Official Language Minority Communities” will take place at the University of Ottawa. This event is organized by GReFoPS in collaboration with several partners, including the CNFS–Volet Université d’Ottawa and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Students currently enrolled in a postsecondary program or who graduated in 2025 are invited to submit an abstract in French or in English for a poster presentation. Submissions must focus on a student research project related to social or health services for Official Language Minority Communities (OLMC). Posters and abstracts previously submitted or presented elsewhere are welcome.

Eligibility Criteria
Students from any Canadian college or university, at any level, as well as graduates from these programs in 2025, are invited to submit an abstract.
Each person may submit only one abstract.
Abstract Evaluation Criteria All abstracts must be submitted via this designated form and must not exceed 360 words in French or 300 words in English.
Abstracts will be evaluated by a peer review committee based on the following criteria:
Relevance of the issue and objectives to one or more of the following themes related to social or health services for Official Language Minority Communities (OLMC):
Equity, diversity, and inclusion
Quality of services
Active offer of services in the official minority language
Linguistic insecurity or linguistic risk-taking in the context of social or health services
Please note that this list is indicative, and other topics may be accepted if they are related to health or social services intended for OLMC.
2. Relevance and coherence of the methodology in relation to the project’s objectives; 3. Presence of research results (or, depending on the project’s progress, expected results), a systematic review, or a synthesis of existing knowledge; 4. Potential contribution to advancing knowledge or practice; 5. Clarity and quality of abstract writing.
All submitted and selected abstracts will have the possibility to be made available virtually on the GReFoPS website for a 30-day period starting November 15. Selected abstracts will be presented in person in poster format during the symposium, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Poster Format and Presentation
For all new posters, printing costs will be covered by the GreFoPS team. Posters to be printed must meet the following specifications:
Dimensions: 120 cm wide × 90 cm high
Poster files must be submitted for printing no later than November 14 at noon. Printing instructions will be provided.
A presenter must be on site between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on November 20 to present the poster. Presentations to the scientific committee should last 5 minutes, followed by a question period.
The scientific committee will evaluate the poster presentations, and prizes will be given to students and 2025 graduates.
