We are currently conducting a study on training activities focused on the active offer of social and health services in French. Active offer is defined as "a verbal or written invitation to express oneself in the official language of one's choice; it must precede the request for services."
We are looking for administrators or managers of institutions (e.g., long-term care homes, home care agencies, community clinics, hospitals, etc.) who would be interested in taking advantage of an opportunity to train their staff in the active offer of services in French through a free simulation training activity. The training is done online, at a time that is convenient for the participant, and lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. The study aims to document the relevance of the training activity for healthcare settings and their ability to use the training independently after the research project ends.
Participation in this study is voluntary, and all information collected will remain confidential. Here is a summary of our approach:
1. A 30-minute meeting, on the platform of your choice (Teams or Zoom), during which we will ask you a few questions about your training needs regarding the active offer of services in French; 2. If you agree, your staff will receive a link to the training activity and will be asked to complete a short questionnaire before and after the simulation training (approx.. 15-20 minutes); 3. Once your staff has completed the simulation training, we will meet with you again to get your feedback on the training activity you have used (30 minutes).
The level of commitment required to participate in this study considers the fact that your time and that of your staff is very limited. We sincerely believe that the benefits for your organization are significant and will justify your organization's investment in this project. Sharing your experience will contribute to the development of training tools for the active offer of services in French, which will ultimately improve services for Francophones in minority communities.
